While there were plenty of great thoughts in this chapter, I simply must point out her reference to Ephesians 4:1, which tells us to walk worthy of the calling we have received. I think God is telling me something here because that verse has come up three times now this past week! Hmmm…
What does it mean to walk worthy of your calling?
In the church environment I grew up in, that meant there were certain things we didn’t do. But of course, it goes far beyond that. There are plenty of things we need to purposefully do to ensure we are walking worthy of our calling. Since it is our theme for 2010, I guess I have to start by thinking of my time – in many ways the greatest resource we have. If my goal is to be live a life that is worthy of my calling in Christ than I have to take a look at how and where I spend my time. Sounds like some heavy journal entries are on my to-do list in the days ahead!
